Information pursuant to Art. 13 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) · Last updated: 23 October 2026

This is a translation for convenience. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

In short

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by World4You Internet Services GmbH, Wolfgang-Pauli-Straße 2, 4020 Linz, Austria. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with World4You. Data is processed within the EU.

Each time the website is accessed, the server automatically processes technical data sent by your browser:

Purpose: delivering the website, security and defence against attacks, troubleshooting. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation). Retention: the hosting provider keeps log files for a few days up to approximately 90 days and then deletes them. They are not combined with other data.

3. The game “Survival of the Fittest”

The game runs entirely in your browser. So that you can keep playing, it stores your progress, your settings, your chosen language and the fact that you confirmed the notice on first start in your browser’s local storage. So that the game starts quickly and also works offline, it also keeps the game files (program, 3D models, sounds, fonts) in the browser cache (service worker).

This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us and contains no advertising or tracking identifiers. Storing it is strictly necessary for the game you explicitly requested and is therefore permitted without consent (§ 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). Legal basis, insofar as personal data is concerned at all: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Deleting: you can remove everything at any time in your browser settings (“clear site data”). Note: this also deletes your game progress.

The game and the website can detect whether you opened them in the in-app browser of TikTok or Instagram and then show a notice. This detection only happens in your browser; the fact that you closed the notice is only stored until you close the window (session storage).

4. Feedback and contact form

In the game and on this website you can write to us via “Feedback & ideas”. We process:

Purpose: reading your message, fixing bugs, improving the game and — if you want — replying to you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling feedback and improving the offering); if you make a request, also Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Spam protection: to prevent abuse of the form, the server stores a one-way checksum of your IP address for at most one hour (at most one message per minute). It is then deleted automatically.

How the message travels and who receives it: the form sends your message to our server at World4You (see section 2), which forwards it by email to our mailbox. The mailbox is hosted by Yahoo (Yahoo EMEA Limited, Ireland). Yahoo may also transfer data to the USA and bases such transfers on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions. We do not pass your message on to anyone else.

If forwarding fails: if the server cannot send the email, it stores your message in a protected area on this server that only we can access with a password. Once we have read it, we delete it there.

Retention: we delete messages once they have been dealt with, at the latest after 12 months — unless you have asked us to keep them longer.

Please do not send sensitive data via the form (for example health data or passwords). The information is voluntary; a message cannot be sent without text.

As a thank-you for the first feedback in the game, the game unlocks a hat. This is only stored in your browser.

5. Poll “What comes next?”

For the poll, the server only stores how often each answer was chosen — no names and no IP address. To stop anyone voting a hundred times, the server creates a one-way checksum from your IP address and browser identifier and keeps it for 24 hours; after that it is deleted automatically. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a fair result). The data is only stored on our server at World4You (section 2).

6. Full-version notification

You can sign up to receive exactly one email when the full version of the game is released. We process your email address, the page language (German or English) and the times of sign-up and confirmation.

Confirmation (double opt-in): after signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only when you click it are you added to the list. This makes sure nobody signs up someone else’s address. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 7 days.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 174 Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). You can withdraw it at any time — using the unsubscribe link in every email or with a short message to watchvincekooperation@yahoo.com. Withdrawal applies to the future.

Where and how long: the list is only stored on our server at World4You (section 2); no third-party newsletter service is used. After the one notification has been sent, the list is deleted completely. The emails are sent via World4You’s mail server.

7. Fan corner (submissions)

If you email us screenshots, clips or fan art for the fan corner, we process your email, the files and the name you want to be shown under. We show selected submissions on this website — only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by sending them and can withdraw at any time; we then take the picture down. Please only send pictures you hold the rights to and that do not show other people without their permission. As with feedback, we delete emails after 12 months at the latest; pictures that are shown stay until you withdraw consent or we take them down. What is said about Yahoo in section 4 applies to the mailbox.

8. Samples, videos and wallpapers

The book samples (PDF), the videos and the phone wallpapers are files on this website. Viewing or downloading them only creates the server log data described in section 2.

9. Links to TikTok, YouTube, Twitch and Startnext

This website does not embed any content from these services; it only links to them. Only when you click a link are you taken to the respective provider. From then on, their privacy policy applies.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You can object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Just write to watchvincekooperation@yahoo.com.

11. No automated decisions

There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
